Instructors used by Allabroad.
If you have attended sailing
schools before and are not impressed with your instruction then be refreshed by our
enthusiastic and
well trained instructors.

strengths but all have the skills and
experience to teach you with patience and skill. They have
been trained in the latest methods of teaching and their enthusiasm keeps the course
interesting and exciting.

provided first class instructors and has a wealth of skills at its

All instructors have to either have been home trained or are checked
out carefully before being allowed to teach our valued students.

Yacht quality.
The yachts used by Allabroad are solely used by
Allabroad and are not contracted in from other schools. This
is how Allabroad keeps up the quality of the yachts to the
required standard.
Our yachts are subject to independent spot inspections
in order to maintain our high standards.
Safety requirements.
We use the British coding standard of the MCA for coastal use up
to 60 miles offshore.
This means the boat is allowed to operate legally up to
60 miles off shore.
It is very important when doing any sort of charter or
sailing course that you check the yacht and skipper are
legal.
To check if a yacht you are chartering or doing a course
on is coded for the use it is being put to contact the
RYA or the MCA
Requirements for RYA Instructor qualifications.
A RYA cruising instructor is
qualified to instruct up to Day skipper level. Any level above this and a RYA Yachtmaster instructor is required.
With any sail training centre students should make sure
they are being taught by an instructor qualified to
teach to the required level.
RYA Theory Courses regulations.
Theory, for an RYA certificate, can only be taught using
a approved distance learning method by a school
recognised to teach them or in a classroom by a school
recognised by the RYA to teach theory courses.
Tidal Waters.
Gibraltar has a Mediterranean climate and the tidal
waters required for tidal certificates.
No where else in the Mediterranean Sea can this be
found.
Lost sailing days.
There are rarely days lost through inclement weather and
sailing is rarely spoilt by lack of wind.
Gibraltar bay is sheltered so on those days when the
wind is strong we still have good conditions for
sailing.
This makes Gibraltar one of the best choices for a
sailing holiday and course.
