Theory Course Options.
RYA recognised online Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper

theory course in the comfort of your own home.
5 day residential course living on board
with the theory course taken in our on site classroom.
5 day residential course in a luxury
country villa in Spain with full air con, campo kitchen

10 day (taken over 2 weeks) combination theory and practical course on board.

Online theory courses for those with
limited holiday time.

For those who do
not wish to spend their holidays doing a theory
course we have online theory courses which you
can do at your leisure in the comfort of your
own home.
These courses have been very successful and are
designed to take your theory to the level
required for the Day Skipper practical or
Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster level.
They differ from normal correspondence courses
because they are internet based and we follow up
the theory during your practical course. Our
back up service during the course is excellent
and you can also check your own work as you go.
The Day Skipper theory course is also suitable for
beginners who can be one step ahead when they
arrive by doing the theory revision package at
home before their practical course.

How it works.
We
send you a theory pack with charts, books and general
information. Included is the link to our online theory
website where all of the lessons are laid out in an easy
to understand way.
You can check your work as you go by clicking answer
buttons and these include full colour pictures of the
chart work and plots.
The lessons are in Flash graphics and all of the plotting
actually happens on screen in easy to follow steps.
Should you have any difficulties
with your online theory course we have a full answer
service where you can contact us by email or call our
U.K. local call rate number.
Your questions will be
dealt with promptly by a fully qualified RYA instructor.
When you are ready for the exam you can take it in our
onsite
classrooms at Marina Bay or at home.

Equipment Needed.
You will need a Breton plotter
(See below), dividers, pencils and a rubber to complete
the course.

your own home at your own pace.
If you are taking a practical course with us your
instructor will check your theory and help you with any
aspects
you might be having difficulty with You can take the
exam when you are ready.

Combination Courses.
Our combination courses consist of two
weeks on the yacht doing theory and practical. This provides
sufficient theory for the practical course to be completed. It
will only result in a practical certificate but is ideal for
those just wishing to do the minimum required for the course.
The courses are available for Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper.
Classroom courses.
Allabroad is the only sailing school in
Gibraltar that has onsite dedicated classrooms.
5 day courses
offered: Day Skipper theory, Coastal Skipper /
Yachtmaster theory, Yachtmaster Ocean theory.
1 day courses offered: STCW 95 First Aid, STCW 95 Sea Survival, STCW 95 PSSR,
RYA Diesel Engine, RYA radar and VHF DSC restricted operators
licence.
One day courses can be tagged on to your 5 day theory course or
your practical courses.

Los Sauces offers RYA theory course while living in
the Spanish countryside.
This fantastic villa boasts full air conditioning and
heating, heated swimming pool and a full outside country
kitchen and BBQ.
These courses can be started on a Monday arrival on
Sunday and continue straight on to the practical the
following week or you can include extra days to
explore the surrounding area.
Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster and Yachtmaster Ocean theory courses
can be taken over 5 days.

Our easy to follow Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper
e-learning theory courses provide step by step instruction with lots of
animations and graphics.
Add to this instant feedback on submitted answers to
complete the most user friendly online learning courses available.
The course comes with a the RYA course notes, the link
to our on line theory course and a dedicated instructor for extra
support.

Theory in the classroom.
Allabroad is the only sail training centre in
Gibraltar with on site classrooms fitted out for teaching navigation.
You have the choice of providing your own accommodation or choosing our
inclusive package.
Our residential courses include all breakfasts, lunches and three
evening meals with accommodation on board or in other accommodation
provided by the centre.
Theory at the Villa.
Vic Punch is an Ocean Yachtmaster instructor and
provides theory courses at the villa in Spain.
He is an avid astronomer and is happy to involve any interested students
in some Astro photography and star gazing.

grounds.
The Villa has a large lounge which converts into a
good size classroom during the day.
In the evening you can relax and revise around the pool, take a really nice
walk in the surrounding countryside or visit the local town.
Add to this an external kitchen, BBQ, nice sitting out
areas, astronomy, cycling, walking and you have an RYA theory course
unmatched anywhere.
